I've run into this a few time and rebooted, then I deleted and reinstalled from iTunes and it didn't happen again.

+1 for Ear Trainer

I use Spanish English Dictionary + which is really quick for lookups because you don't have to select language. I don't think it integrates with Kindle but you can double click the home key to pop back and forth.

I'm interested in alternative alternatives as well so I can open and xls file on my iPad. Anybody tried Smartoffice?
