I prchased a HTC Desire HD which has built in wi-fi sotware which allows my iPad to tether to it wouthout any problems.

I managed to download it but it's been taken off already. Great app and free...when it was available :-)

OK, after having done a restore from backup of the 1st iPad, the new one now doesn't connect to the work Wi-Fi. I give up! :mad:

I got my replacement iPad from the Apple store today and the new one connects to the work wi-fi without any problems. So there does appear to be an issue with the hardware.

I've had an issue with the wi-fi at work. At first it worked fine but then had trouble connecting the following week and now doesn't connect at all! However I have no problems connecting using 2 different iPads belonging to colleagues. So it can't be an issue with the router. My iPad is a 32gb...

I had no difficulty buying an iPad at a UK airport. Just walked in and they had one. I think that may be the best place to buy it. Oh, and it was abuot £15 cheaper for the 32Gb wi-fi version.
