Thanks for replying. At the moment it's the only way, but I don't want to give up on the button. What a sad day...

I dropped my ipad 2 from the bed and now it has a small dent on the ipad's right corner. Although the volume button is not jammed or anything, I can not turn the volume down- I mean I push the down button and nothing happens. The up button is normal. I think there must be hardware problem...
