Try tapping the image to get the blue lines/dots frame around it, then hold your finger on it and drag it to the position you want.

Whoops. It seems to be the 'Edit' button you tap, not the arrow one, then you tap and hold the image in order to move it.

As far as I'm aware you can re- order images in the native photos app, which will then show in that order in a slideshow. Obviously you need to put all your images in an album then follow the instructions below provided by Diane B. I use photo apps a lot but only found out about this recently...

That's really useful info Diane -I use photo apps a lot and I didn't realise the images could be re-ordered in the native photos app! Very handy when setting off a slideshow...Just goes to show the learning goes on and on...!
