Thank you so much for taking time to read my post. I have removed my corporate exchange account, and after deleting it, the three applications reappeared on the home screen. Can you imagine that - I would never have thought of doing that. I am much obliged A less confused iPad user.

i was on holdiay in the UK two weeks back, and bought it there from an authorized apple store dealership.

Thank you for your reply. I have also thought about it being deactivated due to the facility not being available in my country (South Africa). Unfortunately we don't have a discussion forum for the iPad2 so advanced yet, sine it was only launched a week or so ago. What made me think otherwise...

I recently synced my iPad with iTunes, whereafter these 3 default applications disappeared from the iPad. Uncertain of the cause, I restored the iPad to it's factory settings and it once again displayed on the iPad. However another sync to iTunes delivered the same result. What may the cause...
