I believe it was done to make the device seem thinner then it is. If it was a flat bottom then it would be thicker all around the edges, but since its curved they can start make the edges thinner and make the whole device seem thin. Why do you want to hook it up to tripod stands?? lol I don't think the finger thing should be that big of a problem, most of the time i dont have my fingers on the bezel anyway, but for people that do i think it should be ok. There is also going to be a kick stand type of thing to keep it up...

I counted 30 pins tell me if you count the same Installing iPad Wi-Fi LCD - iFixit And do you know how to go about replacing the connector cable to a 40 pin LVDS interface?

I have mine jail broken so it wouldn't need to be an official app. I am installing a special screen which requires that functionality. And i know the ipad still runs but I think it turns off the whole screen. I need the app to turn off the backlight only and still give power to the screen.

Hey would anybody on here be able to make an app, that would be able to shut off the led backlight but leave the screen still on?
