Incipio Smart Feather is really good...... I've used Incipio Feather covers ever since the iPad 1 launched and they have been great. Tried loads of others and always go back to the Feather.....

I had my iPad 1 for over a year. I recharged whenever I felt like it or when I needed to and over the course of a year I did not notice any battery degradation. I very rarely did a complete discharge and charge so I doubt you have anything to worry about... Just use and enjoy....

I also use my iPad for online banking and have done so for ages... As others have said just use your 3G or personal WiFi and you should be fine. Just as safe as if you were using your laptop......
