I have purchased calengoo now. Some of the default settings on the ipad are truly ugly. You will probably want to change the defaults for landscape day view and for agenda. Other than that I found a few minor bugs, but overall it seems to fit the bill.

I have flash blocked on all my browsers and did even before getting an iPad. As a developer, I can't afford to have malware on my machines and flash is a big security risk. Here's just a few articles that come up when you google flash+malware Flash Ads Serving up Malware on Popular Sites...

I've used netflix in many wifi locations. If the connection is good, I get a crystal clear picture with good color. I've heard iPad can be more picky about wifi than other hardware.

Time to update my os, I guess.

Google travel wifi. You'll find routers specifically made for your situation.

Planning ahead is also good. There are lots of free books in the ibook store. Lots of cheap games for the iPad as well.

I have a retro 'case' that my neighbor made for me. It's made from the leg of an old pair of jeans lined with fleece fabric. Naked when I use it - protected in transport.

I'd be more likely to choose Pandora playing 70s folk-rock or some jazz. But yeah. It does a lot of stuff, but don't forget that it's also an iPod.

I just tried wundermap. It doesn't give all the good information the wunderground.com does. Try the weatherbug app. It gives hourly forecasts.

Possibly the best web site for weather. Gives all sorts of information that other sites don't. In particular, I like the dew point forecast. In the summertime, that's the best indicator of how comfortable you're going to be. Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground However...
