I appreciate all the replies and suggestions re use and abuse of the battery. I've learnt a lot from you guys,especially not to worry about when and how often my iPad needs charging. Not sure where I got the 10% from, probably reading too much of Aesop's works! Thanks again Dagwood

And yet I'm sure I read somewhere, possibly the iPad manual, that you should allow it to discharge to 10% before charging and that doing so will help prolong it's life? Dagwood

Just out of interest: do you upload photos "loose" to a folder or within a pre established folder ? I have lost photos during transfer but I don't think this has happened when they have been in a folder that I have transferred. Dagwood

Thanks for taking the trouble to show that. I guess that answers the doubts I had as to its effectiveness ie it won't show if not turned on or connected to the Internet or if the person who "finds" it turns it off. Also once the battery is flat it would not show so one is going to have to find...
