I am traveling and from my current location I can receive and send emails from my ipad 2 with no problem, but they are not being received. However when I send an email to myself I receive it. Has this problem ever been reported?

Is there a setting that allows you to read iPad while outside or on a beach? I tried but couldn't see anything on the screen while all around me there were people with Kindles and other types of pads. I suspect that it is much like my iPhone which I can't see either. This would be a great...
