For 2 players I really enjoy Small World and Neuroshima Hex. But you have to like board games a bit to enjoy those games. Last Sunday I spent 1,5 hours playing Neuroshima Hex in train coming back from family. Really Good.

I recommend Gun Bros, I play it only on iPhone but on iPad should good enough.

Few months ago, Multipong was free and for me it's one of the best free games at that time. Unfortunately, it's no longer free.
