    Drinking the Kool-Aid

Samsung. Looks like you can stop waiting. In Q3 Samsung sold over 10 million more smartphones than Apple. Samsung sold 27 million, Apple sold 17 million. I'll check back with you after the Q4 results come in. Samsung surges past Apple in smartphones, upbeat on Q4 (Reuters) - Samsung...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

Appreciated. Regarding iTunes, I view it as a rather more serious and indeed deliberate breach on Apple's part. We've entrusted Apple with sometimes thousands of dollars worth of music. We've trusted iTunes to continue to offer the same functionality. But now the iTunes (or iPod app) on the...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

Thanks Dlh1970. I'll check out OPlayer and Dropbox. And if you ever want an alternative to iBooks try Bookman, its free. It doesn't support as many formats, but it has a nice bookshelf preview of .pdf files that works better than iBooks.

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

@Catfiend My view is that I was not overly offensive, but more that Apple users proved overly defensive; people can form their own conclusions based on the above. More importantly, your post #14 is the first to directly address the issues I've raised. My question to any willing to discuss this...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

I'm unhappy that the best hardware has been crippled in a scheme to manipulate users. I'm surprised that the iPad has been designed to hinder access to shared iTunes libraries and shared files. Apparently this is considered a feature not a bug. I thought reviews could contain negative as well as...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

I just wanted to offer my review that all is not rosy. Since I am new to the iPad, these patterns, flaws if you will, seem very glaring, and I thought maybe I'm missing something. It seems to me though, that you are putting me into a box labelled "power user"... they'll never be happy... no...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

Yes, the Kool-aid® leaves a bitter after-taste. I know you can't return iPad software. Can you return iPad hardware? Now that I discovered Bookman I'll probably hang onto it. But I'll keep griping too, never fear.

Viewing the book cover on iBooks?

What is strange is that iTunes shows all my covers properly! But iBooks fails 80% of the time. On my 800 .pdf books. Is there a good alternative to iBooks? This is a deal breaker. Just looking for a pdf viewer that has a bookshelf view that works, if that's not too much to ask, Apple, unless you...

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

    1. Bought an iPad 2. Its pretty cool, but its dawning on my how annoying Apple's control over content is. I mean people already learned how to organize and manage their content using what's called the operating system (or Finder). Then Apple has to go and munge it all around, so I have to...
