Hello,

Not sharp with this, so would appreciate any help.

New ipad3.

Via wiFi, how do I transfer photos and videos from on my pc to ipad ?

and, vice versa ?

Does it go thru that "cloud" they talk about ?
Do I need any particular app to do easily ?

Only interested in wifi transfers for now ?

Really detailed instructions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks,
B.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

If you want to do it over wifi you could use an app called Photo Manager Pro.

I synch over wi-fi using iTunes. I don't see the need for an app that duplicates something that is already done natively on th iPad, especially if you have a 16 or 32 GB model....

I've used this method to put all my digital photographable taken over the last ten years onto the iPad to take advantage of the screen resolution. The only problem I've had is that I seem to lose sub folders. For example the main folder might be called 2010 with the sub folders being the names of various holidays, special occasions, etc. On the iPad I end up with all the photographs in the one main folder 2010 all the sub folders have disappeared.

One reason to do it using a third-party app is simply to avoid using iTunes. That's why I do it because the current version is a slug.

Have a look at this thread....hope it helps with your folders.

I'd recommend FileBrowser from the App Store. It provides a great File Manager system for use within the app itself & allows remote access of shared folders on your PC using Samba or direct access to NAS drives that use the smb protocol.

It also allows viewing of photos via wifi or copying to your iPad for local storage & much more. I have no connection with the app developer, BTW, just a very satisfied user. :)

FileBrowser - Access files on remote computers for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on the iTunes App Store
