Video app help

Purchased a movie through iTunes. It was the newest transformers movie. While I was watching it, it froze and did nothing else. Eventually the screen went black. I tried closing the app, I tried rebooting the the iPad nothing really seems to work. Any ideas on what to do? I am at a loss here.

I have tried the hard shut down too, and nothing seems to work. I can't even change videos.
