YouTube Google Inc app ad won't go away

Hello all, rather new iPad user here. Somehow a YouTube app ad appeared at the top of every safari screen. The small black x at the right fails to close the ad. So I installed the app hoping it would make the ad go away but alas...no. I could simply ignore it except it covers some of whatever page I'm viewing and often there is important data being covered up.

Have you tried force closing Safari? Place 4 fingers on the screen and swipe up to engage the multitask screen, then using one finger swipe upwards on Safari.
