Yahoo’s Weather app is one of the best looking weather apps currently available for mobile devices, actually receiving the Apple Design Award at WWDC, this year. Eight months ago, Yahoo! has rolled out an all-new Weather app for iPhone, and now the company has announced that the app is optimized for iPads, too.
What makes Yahoo Weather so special is the fact that it fetches beautiful and relevant images to its local weather forecasts from Flickr, which is also owned by Yahoo. One could even choose to submit his own weather-related snap to the Project Weather Group. The app will offer a detailed forecast, including hourly and daily predictions, details, wind speed, precipitation and maps. All of this information is presented in a beautiful, cleverly animated and easy-to-read interface. Version 1.5 of the Yahoo Weather app for the iPad is described like this in the App Store:
After you will install the app on your iPad, you will have the feeling that it was Apple’s designers who made the app, as its beautiful simplicity will make a great impression.
