With the introduction of the new iOS and the limited 256k ram on my first gen, it's become frustrating with the memory crashes on the new iOS. Yes, I've tried all the tricks to improve this issue but it's performance is still sub par. By jail breaking, will this help it's overall performance? Or, am I forced to have to upgrade to the iPad 2 to steer away from these performance issues? 5.0
No, jailbreaking will not get around the limitations of the size of the RAM on the iPad1. There are tweaks and such to help manage RAM (as in, make it easier to free it up), but since RAM cannot be added to the iPad, we are stuck with what we've got. Sorry, but there you go. Marilyn
Thank you for the response, not what I was hoping to hear but it is what it is. Maybe I should have stayed with my 4.3.3 jailbreak, I have the old blobs so I may go that route, if I can figure it out. 5.0
