My golden rule is to just take it wherever I will need to use it :)

I use my iPhone for shopping lists because iPad is a bit too big
Only unless well secured
Depends if I'm in the car waiting for it
Iphone again
Definitely in car
Nope, I know some of you do but I've got better things do in the shower if you know what I mean
I don't believe in tanning
Nope, you are there for the much larger screen I should hope

I take mine to the theater. I use it to keep myself entertained until the previews start. I don't find the adds and trivia all that riviting. I'd never take it out during the movie, besides the bright screen being a rude distraction for the other patrons, I'm there to watch the movie. If the movie is so bad that I'm wanting to use the iPad, it is probably time to get up and leave.

Sound is off, of course, just like the phone.

True, never thought of that but I don't think my hubby would appreciate the lack of attention to him though, as he is the one I go with, but those ads do get monotonous.

As a phone replacement ,except for the shower, sure.
I have TextNow for texts and Whistle for phone calls ( both are free) so I actually could leave my phone at home and still be able to communicate. I have forwarding apps on my phone to forward texts and calls to my iPad if my phone is charging anyway.
I don't see the bike ride as a good thing either though but I guess it depends on the type of ride.

I dunno.

Mobile phones are completely and utterly accepted anywhere these days. I don't think tablets are yet. As in, I think I'd feel most self aware with mine in public just at the mo.

I have been taking mine to the golf course with the Golfshot application...which is one of the reasons I bought it in the first place...works very well (I use a golf cart and stays in the cart). I have a large ziplock in my golf bag in case of rain :)
