Working First Gen iPad with Black Screen PLEASE HELP

I have a working iPad first gen with iOS 5 and it does not display any of the screen ex home screen etc. I can hear the voice utility at start up telling me the time and saying the the screen is locked but the system won't display anything so that I can with unlock the screen nor see anything PLEASE HELP>

In regards to your issue try a reset. Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. This is a reset. Let us know how it goes.
