won't charge

went to charge my iPad but nothing happens the charger charges my iPhone so it is ok.. I have
restarted the iPad but still nothing!

The charging port on your iPad could be broken. Does the iPad connect to iTunes on your computer?

Make sure there is no lint or other stuff in the iPad’s lightning port. You can clean it with a plastic toothpick. Be gentle. Just sweep the port for debris. Don’t don’t hook, dig, or otherwise force the issue.

Yesterday it charged but today my iPhone won't think it might be the cord

Try a different cord to rule out a defective charging cord as the problem​

I took my wife's cord and so far it works, hoping it's the cord.

Yes it seem to be the cord the new one has been working fine so far.
