For those of you with cellular iPads and cramped data plans, be sure to go to Settings > Celular Data and turn off Wi-Fi Assist. It is at the very bottom of the celular settings page. This feature will let your iPad use cellular data when your wi-fi signal is weak or unreliable, and could cause unexpected usage of your data plan. For some reason it appears to be on by default.
