where did the 'i' in front of apple products come from?
Nobody knows, it is a mystery. What I want to know is why the little white Apple on my iPad/iPod startup screen is cracked. I swear the crack changes from time to time, but I drink.
I have no documentation to back it up but when the iPod first came out it was advertised as a truly personal device, the i in ipod was, in essence, for "my personal music player" . It was perfect for the narcissistic generation that was emerging at about the same time.

Are you Jack Handy?....
Sounds like one of his: "Strange thoughts by Jack Handy"
That makes sense.
There was the iDevices, then nintendo brought the Wii, next one should be the "usSystem"
The first i was the iMac, and for marketing purposes it stood for internet.
Saw this article a few weeks ago. Took a while to track it down again.
