My first was a little beat up old Golf( can't remember specs guys!). It was pale blue and kept on breaking down soon to be followed by another blue car Ford Escort 1600. Much better! My favourite car ever was a £200 Ford Capri that the the previous owner had T-cut( took it back to another coat of paint underneath). I loved that car! It was a beautiful red colour with that distinctive long bonnet and I used to have to put my daughters baby seat in the front. It couldn't go faster than 60 miles an hour without extreme effort but I didn't care! One day I parked it in a supermarket car park for some milk and someone had nicked it. I only left it for 5-10 minutes. I was gutted. The police found it funnily enough near we live now but in a side road in a ditch with all my windows smashed in. I was heartbroken because we didn't have any money to do it back to original condition so I had to scrap it. That was one of my worst days ever! Yes, I am a bit of a car fanatic, always have been, maybe because my dads family used to stock car race in their early days. It's in the blood. I have an Isuzu trooper 7 seater for the kids and to pull the horse trailer. Also blue. There is a trend there I think. Anyway, please tell me about your cars.

My first car was a motorbike :) A Honda C70 that I still remember fondly. My first car was a 1963 Mini, and that is still probably my favorite car ever. I'm still a biker, with a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 and an Aprillia 50cc scooter, though if I were to buy a car now I might go for one of the new Fiat 500s.

Have fun,
Gleth

I love those minis especially red ones or the ones with the Union Jack on them. Do you like the new version mini. I'm afraid my brother despaired of me ever riding pillion with him on his motorbike. Apparently I'm meant to lean into the bends not try desperately to stay upright and destablise the whole bike. I ride horses not bikes and yes, they are unpredictable but so can other road users for you bikers. We have a pub up the road which has a bikers night on Thursdays where all the bikers and family have a BBQ.

A Fiat 500 - the original one, not the current model. Two-cylinder air-cooled engine, no synchromesh gears (all that double-declutching!). Gas (petrol) tank just in *front* of the passenger compartment, fabric sun roof - but what character.

Wow! I am jealous, you are not in the same league. I got into a Camero once in SA and it was so fast! I loved it. My dad had mercedes S sports car with soft and hard top and that was one hell of a car and a lovely red colour.

A toys and gadgets man after my own heart,

Adaptive Cruise Control - technology's gift to the motorist - especially with a six-speed automatic - I was so entranced that I bought a book on precisely how it works so that I can be a real bore....
Heated and cooled seats (why the hell I paid for that second option, I'll never know - in Scotland - cooled seats?? What was I thinking)
Voice Control of most everything - but it still freaks passengers out when I say 'Call Home'.
Rain-sensing wipers - and it's cool how those work...but just don't get me started...

etc etc

Downside - after I'd had the car for a couple of weeks the garage called me to advise that my car needed a software update...:(

Tim

OK - back to moderating....

Oh, Tim, you are a James Bond in the making. Boys and their toys, well I'm thinking us girls can be drooling over that very same car. Just let me try! And no! You are an optimist getting cooling in the seats, I've got that in my isuzu and it comes in very handy in a holiday queue anywhere in UK.

And no! You are an optimist getting cooling in the seats, .

Cooling? Mine make your butt warm, but there is cooling too?

Absolutely - ducts air from the air-con to the underside of the seat, where a fan forces it through the seat cover. (The leather seat design has a perforated surface so the cool air can flow through it and cool you).

So, Marie, tell us about your first car?? I'm trying to guess - a Corvette?

Or are you a Harley girl?
