Hi all,
Whenever I type my name....Ken.....it types Len and I have to do it over.
If I type slow K e n, it’s ok.
What’s the story this time with this thing??
Thanks, Ken

Check under Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and make sure there is not an entry for “Ken”

Failing that, it is probably auto-correct. For some reason the dictionary has decided that Ken is a misspelling of Len. You can try Reset Keyboard Dictionary under Settings > General > Reset.

If that does not work you can turn off Auto-Correct under Settings > General > Keyboard, and live with not having any corrections made (other than Text Replacement). As long as Check Spelling is on, you’ll still get an indication (red underline) of when iOS thinks words are misspelled. Though that’s not completely error free either, you can ignore those mistakes and just keep typing away.

I leave Auto-Correct off myself. I prefer to own my mistakes rather than be embarrassed by proxie.

Turning off Auto-Correction should have been enough to stop the replacement. No idea why you would need to turn of Spell Check as well.

Is this a hardware keyboard? Given that the L and K are right next to each other, perhaps you’ve got an intermittent issue with the keyboard.

I didn’t notice you’re mentioning that typing slow seemed to work. That should have no effect on spellcheck or the text replacement feature. Those will wait until you enter a space, then replace the entire wood. Doesn’t matter how long you pause before finishing the word.

I think typing slow works.
Still checking to see if the “Reset Keyboard Dictionary“ thing works. So far so good.
Raining again here in South Jersey. Tuesday was the hurricane.
Lots of fun this Summer!
Thanks again.....Ken. Was ok that time!!

A hardware keyboard is a physical keyboard that can be connected to an iPad via Bluetooth or by the Smart Connector on an iPad Pro.
