What is the best way to buy low cost...

So I'm planning to get an iPad Mini for an upcoming trip to Asia. I've been looking around at how to buy it for the fewest $$$.

What would you do? Buy on eBay--advertised as new, and in the box? Or buy refurbished from Apple?

The prices are comparable. I've always felt better buying from the source, but I'm tempted to buy new at a reduced price. However then I worry that it's not new, and I'm being scammed...

Anyway, your experiences and thoughts are welcomed!

I would buy from Apple as personally eBay could create problems for you. One thing you should be aware of if you intending to go to Hong Kong is Apple prices are the same as USA so you have no cost advantage. Keep in mind that wifi is available in most south East Asia so a wifi iPad would be fine.
