Unfortunately, the eclipse is not visible from my part of the world.
There’s a Mercury Transit later this year (November 11). It will be visible in Europe as well as Canada.
That should be interesting to any who have the proper Solar filters for their telescopes. Back on June 5, 2012 I took a photo of the last transit of Venus until the 22nd century.
The transit of Mercury should look similar, with a much smaller silhouetted disc.
