All my results from google searches tell me that while I am video recording on my iPad2 all I have to do to zoom is tap the screen. A slider should appear and I should use that to zoom in or out. Whenever I tap the screen, however, I do not get a slider. I get a box that I understand is for focusing on a particular subject. So, where is the slider or am I misinterpreting something?

My understanding is the stock Camera app (which includes video) only allows you to zoom in camera mode. You can't zoom in while in video mode.

However, I believe there are apps in the App Store that allow you to use a zoom feature when videoing. Unfortunately, I don't know of any, but I am sure a search will turn up some.

Sorry for the lack of help - but hopefully this'll steer you in the right direction.
