    What is the best video converter around so I can watch them on my iPad2???
    I would like to convert avi, mpeg, etc

    Hi, why not just play them on an app like GPlayer or the free version, GPlayer lite?
    It plays avi and mpeg, therefore saving you time on converting :)

    You have a lot of choices. Handbrake (free) is by far the most popular. There are many others. Search is your friend. I typed in "best iPad Video Converter" into the Google search field (top right-hand of every page) and came up with numerous threads:
