very strange behavior of the keyboard of my iPad, anybody even seen this?

Suddenly, for no reason visible at all, I was just writing something on a website's forum, the keyboard gives this behavior.
Isn't that strange?
Has anybody ever seen this?
Do I have to do a restore action?

It's just undocked. Press and hold the keyboard hide button, bottom right, and select Dock.

I now have found out that the problem appears when the setting of the split keyboard is set to "on", if I set this to "off" the virtual keyboard behaves as normal again.

This indeed solved it !
But... What is the use of it being "undocked"?

Some folks like to split the keyboard and move it up the screen. You can type with both thumbs whilst holding the iPad in the middle with two hands.
