I. Have checked sound, other programs have sound. The time bar initially moved across the screen but now just shows as playing, but does not...any ideas? I also tried re-syncing to iTunes on laptop, still no luck. Thanks in advance

Have you tried to do the immediate fixes?

Force the app to quit by pushing the home button twice to bring up your multi-task bar. This will show all the apps that you have visited. By long pressing the app in question, it will begin to jiggle-press the red circle with the negative sign on the app. It will only quit the app and not delete. Than try to re-open the app and test out.

If that doesn't work, restart the iPad by pressing the power switch down to power off.

Third is to do a soft reset by holding the power switch and home button together until you see the apple logo. Hope that helps!

Yes, restarted several times. Is the music button considered as a regular app? Et me try this fix

Yes try to force close the apps.

And just to make sure you have done this...do the reset as described as above.

Yes, Music is an app. Are you trying to play local music or are you using music match?

Sent from my iPhone using iPF

Ok, did all above. Then tried one other thing that I had not tried.. Music....store....reviewed a song to buy, it worked.... Does this narrow down? Sigh

FYI...not using music match..., haven't purchased that yet...guess it is local then. I have purchased several singles on this iPad also, not just transfer from laptop, and both don't respond

Press the home button twice until you get your multi task bar. Swipe to the left until you see your music controls. Make sure the volume is on.

Also go to settings/general/sideswitch options. Make sure THE mute ...UNCHECKED
