Someone somewhere always has issues...but this is not a problematic upgrade or you'd be seeing lots of reports about it here....

It's only an issue if you jailbreak your mini. The latest update prevents jailbreaks ( 6.1.4 ). Otherwise, it's not a problematic update and I have experienced no issues.

FYI, iOS 6.1.4 is only available for the iPhone 5.

My apologies in incorrectly identifying the latest version of iOS for the mini. I have the latest update on both of my mini's and have experienced no issues. As I am new to apple and this forum, I can only ask for a bit of tolerance from the community. I wasted several years of my life as an android developer and have just recently moved to the apple way of doing things.
