Just to add to my confusion

I loaded iTunes onto my netBook and remote worked first time, I double checked every setting in both copies of iTunes and there is nothing different.

I am now suspecting its a Windows 7 issue as I have XP on my NetBook.

Hi Guys

Just to make it interesting and confusing the Remote App on my net book has now stopped working as well, I have done some searching on this problem and I am not alone, quite a few owners are having the same problems.

Hi Guys

After following these instructions found on another site and making the appropriate changes because I am on Win7 and these where written for Vista I have now got remote sort of working.

After screwing with this STUPID Remote from 3Am till now 3PM - I got the remote
icon to finally show up in Itunes.

VISTA USERS:

Go to
Administrative Tools in the Control Panel
Click on View Local Services
You
need to Start the ( Routing and Remote Access ) Service here..

Then Wam
- The icon will show up in Itunes in a matter of seconds.

The iPad now connects remotly but now a new problem, after searching the iPad fails to show anything to control, no music or anything shows up after it has searched.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the remote app?

Have you updated iTunes to the newest version?

Hi

I have tried un installing the app and I am running the latest iTunes as well. I have been doing quite a bit of searching over this problem and it looks like I am not alone with this problem, there are many reporting the same fault as well as many reporting no problems . I am running under windows7 if that makes any difference.

How about restoring the pc to a date when the remote app used to work? Apart from that the only thing I would do is restore the whole PC?

Hi

I have never been able to get it working with my iPad, I did have remote working a few years ago but that was with an iPhone3 and on another PC.

My 2 Sons both have iPhone4s and remote dosent work on either of them either.

Does anyone have this App working on a Windows Based PC, I wonder if Apple have done something so it only works on Apple PC's.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the help with this.

I have finally decided to give up with it and have deleted the Remote App.

That way I won't get frustrated with not being able to sort it out.

Good luck to the many who have also reported the failure of this app on the many Apple forums.

I think you should restore your pc, and see if it works then otherwise you may come into problems with other apps later on!
