Hi, I purchased my iPad 2 yesterday and am trying to work out which apps to download. I am a theatre nurse and am thinking of going back to uni next year to complete my post grad degree and maybe masters. At home we run a pc with windows 7 and microsoft office 2007. I would like advice on an app to allow me to use word cods on the ipad and a word processing app that I can send to my pc that it will be able to understand.
I am sorry if I am not making this very clear. Also any basic apps that you think would be useful to my use of the ipad.

Welcome to the Forum. You will find plenty of information here on your questions. Use the search engine as there are many threads on the different word processing apps available and they are explained in depth so you will be able to make an informed choice. Some work better than others with windows software. I have Office2 HD. As for the other apps, it's a personal choice but there are threads on Must Have Apps. If after searching, you still have unanswered questions, by all means post, there are many friendly people here only too willing to help with your questions. There is an app called Appstart for IPad which is free right now, but I found it interesting when I first got my iPad. It showcases a lot of apps that you may like, but take your time and do some searching first. Also reading the iPad manuals is a good place to start. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPad_User_Guide.pdf.

Another great thread is Tips and Tricks for those of us who don't know - you will find many tips in this thread.

Enjoy!!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.
