I am confused - the two previous posters said they preferred their thumbs, but the poll results (early days yet, I know) show thumbs->0, fingers->2

I tend to use the iPad horizontally so I prefer fingers. Held vertically my thumbs are too big.

Prefer to give things a magisterial poke with a rigid digit....

I hold it straight up like it's a big cell phone and then type with my thumbs... Just like I would type a text on my cell phone.

Okay! I'm alright now! I'm a middle finger girl but can use thumbs on iPhone as well.

Please don't do that Hasty, I'm trying to drink my tea here, you know! Tea and hysterical laughter don't mix you know!

from Somerset UK on my iPad using IPF app

I find I can type more with fingers, although I don't mind the thumbs either. It's kind of like a xl iPhone lol

Today was the day I typed on my iPad the most since I got it 6 days ago and I find that I can almost touch type with it using thumbs and fingers. I think that the autocorrect feature has a lot to do with that.

Mostly just fingers other than thumbs. Using my iPad2 mostly horizontally, so it works much better.

I have prolly used my ipad2 vertical five times, not including apps that only have that one orientation. Fingers are just a more natural-less mistake feel.
