This ipad is smarter than me

I dont even know how I can make it go back to the previous page ?
Or even if it does that.
My first ipad and I sure am impressed but Im used to the Dell desktopks with windows and a simple arrow icon for backing up a page or 2.
Where is the page back icon/button ?

I knew about 4 finger swipe from bottom to top to get at running apps, but this horizontal swipe is new to me and will most probably become my most used gesture. Suggest it is also posted to the Hints and Tips thread.
