Thanks Richard......I'm getting way too excited about all of this now it is just a triple jump away from starting.

I think that despite the British medias attempts to put a downer on things by always reporting about folks that have no interest in the Olympics coming to the UK, or things not going quite as planned, the huge turnout each and everyday for the torch relay tells a different story......bring it on!

Yes it's very VERY EXCITING

I got in half an hour ago after seeing, and running after, the torch relay.

I am about to post photos of the waiting crowd.

My relay pics will follow either late today, or tomorrow morning.

It was a great buzz with the sponsors razz matazz preceding the torch bearer. Great atmosphere, despiteone or two trumps pushing through muttering "I must get to work.". Long live Scrooge :O

I took these on the smart phone at 9.00 am today.

The turn out for the relay was something incredible.

I ran after the relay for a mile, and got some photos of the torch bearers and of the flame being passed to the next torch bearer in the "kiss".
















Street level at the start of Westmoreland Road.







After the relay had passed, some folks waved at anything passing by!

Here are photos from yesterday's torch relay through Bromley.

These are of the lead up, with the Razz Matazz by the sponsors - a bit like a moving warm up act for the crowds.

I keep thinking of the song with the line My old man said follow the van and don't dilly dally on the way

I ran after, and caught up with, the torch bearer. It was partly uphill, and about 3/4 of a mile. I'm not too fit!

Yes, I believe they were given the torches they ran with. Before the torches are handed out, they are decommissioned. IE, the gas cylinder and jet for the flame are removed. I hope the torches cool off quickly
