Chillingo’s fun crime-fighting caper, The Hero, has finally made the leap onto the iPad with an HD version. Along with the original iPhone game’s quirky humour and non-stop action, the new iPad version of the game, developed by Traplight Games, features a brand new single-finger flight control option that enables The Hero to glide gracefully and heroically through the sky, taking out villains with his usual aplomb. The new HD graphics give the game more visual pop, and online Leaderboards and Achievements enable you to showcase your crime-fighting prowess and pit your skills against other fans all over the world.

The storyline is the same as the iPhone version, with the game’s protagonist, The Hero, saving the world one metropolis at a time from the clutches of the maniacally evil Dr. Hubbub. Guide him around the friendly and unfriendly skies and marvel as he catches falling babies, puts out fires, and generally tries to gives the world’s villains a collective bloody nose. The Hero’s hobbies include puffing out his buff chest and chatting up the Police Chief’s sexy secretary, Miss Rose, but most of the time, he’s just being heroic, because someone has to!

If you like the sound of all that wacky mayhem, then you can download The Hero HD here for $2.59/£1.19.
