Hello, I would like to offer thanks for this site. I was looking on the Internet for a site like this. I live in Texas. I am a nurse and I have recently received an IPad 2 as a gift. I love the iPad and I can't get off of it sometimes. I watch movies and play games. I love playing angry birds. Again thank you for a great site!
Torrents could be considered piracy and that kind of discussion is not permitted here. However, I would like to welcome you to the forums and hope you find anything else your looking for on this site Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk
Don't worry about it. You are new and didn't realize that it's against the rules. To answer your question, though, there is no app designed for downloading torrents, and there likely never will be, since Apple recognize that torrents=piracy. Anyway, welcome to the forum, and take a look at the rules when you have time. You can find a link to the rules page in my signature. Sent from my iPad using iPF
A very warm welcome to the forums joetay07, and rest assured you did nothing wrong. Let's be clear everyone... The discussion of torrent technology is NOT against the rules of our forums. Torrents DO NOT always equal piracy, just as jailbreaking is NOT illegal and does NOT equal piracy. There are perfectly legitimate uses for this technology and they are fully supported here. Piracy IS against our rules and always will be. OK? Torrent clients are available for jailbroken Apple devices, although given then nature of the flash based storage on our devices I would never recommend anyone uses their device to torrent on! There are also numerous remote torrent management clients for the likes of uTorrent etc., not to mention that most torrent software has remote web interfaces which can be accessed via Mobile Safari (my personal preference) Here is one of the many links to previous discussions - http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-general-discussions/28189-torrents-ipad-2-a.html Hope that clears things up.
Not being a Jailbreaker, I didn't know there was software available for jailbroken devices. I stand corrected. It is unfortunate that jail breaking, a perfectly legal activity, has somehow been tarnished with the same brush as piracy. Probably as a result of being discussed by people who don't know much about it. Anyway, there is a hacking section of this forum where jail breaking and other legal activities can be discussed with people who do know what they are talking about, so feel free to visit the section and see whether jail breaking is for you.
