Syncing with my laptop

My I pad will only sync with my authorized laptop when it is plugged into said laptop, not as it should when plugged into the power and connected to the same Wifi please advise

From the way I read it, you first have to plug the iPad into iTunes with the USB cord. Then, somewhere in iTunes there is an option to "sync with this iPad over iTunes." I say somewhere because I don't use this option...

Then, once that is turned on, I'm assuming it will work thereafter - as long as your computer is on and iTunes is open.

If you followed those steps - can you tell us what is (or is not) happening when you plug in the iPad? Are you getting any type of error notice?

In addition, the iPad has to be connected to a power source.
