Pocket Gamer reports today that the long-awaited PSN and PC hit indie side-scroller Swords & Soldiers will be hacking and slashing its way onto the App Store this Thursday, July 7. Developed by Two Tribes and Ronimo Games, and published by the mighty Chillingo, the RTS game gives players the chance to command hordes of Vikings, Aztecs and Chinese warriors, each with their own unique skills, not to mention their own hilarious storylines. There are three epic campaigns in total for you to immerse yourself in, as well as a fully customizable Skirmish mode, and even several unlockable high score bonus games. The iPad version of the game goes one better than the iPhone version, with a fully featured multiplayer mode enabling you to go up against your friends and family. Previous console versions of Swords & Soldiers earned a Metacritic ranking of 81%, so let’s hope that the iOS version can live up to that billing.
