just bought ipad2, put in some contacts, spelled a few wrong, deleted them and corrected others, but when I want to send a email all those other contacts that were supposedly deleted/corrected also show up on the contacts list. How do I clear that list?

You've stumbled across a problem that we all face. The iPad maintains two lists of emails/contacts. There's one that's in the Contacts app and there's a 'recently used' list that's entirely separate and you cannot edit. It's *incredibly* frustrating - on the Mac this list can be deleted, but not on the iPad. The only good news is that the list is limited in time and those mis-spelt entries will - eventually - 'drop off' the end of the list. Until then, there's nothing you can do....
