Stream videos from mac to iPad ?

Hi guys

I have loads of movies on my iMac and wondered when I'm out of the uk is there anyway I can access my movies from my iPad 3 ?

I'm guessing something like Dropbox ? But your answers / options would be welcome

I have a 64 GB 4G (AT&T), but since I got the unlimited storage on the AirStash! I never come close to filling it up! I have several 32 GB SD cards filled with pictures, a few 16 & 32 GB cards with Pages, Keynote, Numbers, & PDF documents! I have 4 32GB SD cards with movies for those long plane rides!

It gives you the unlimited storage READ & WRITE that Apple says is impossible!

I have been setting up my own personal cloud storage this weekend, you might want to take a look at this thread http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-general-discussions/74006-personal-cloud-storage.html

You could drag your movies into this drive then stream from anywhere on your iPad.

I use Air Media Center to stream my movies and videos from the PC to my iPad. I have it setup on my router with an open port so that I can access via the Internet when away from the house or via wifi when at home. This does involve leaving your computer on while you are away from home but the nice thing is that you don't have to convert your video format as Air Media Center will handle transcoding just about any video format.
