Just new to iPad. Want to take it on my travels and have relatives around the world . Cannot download skype to safari , although I have tried various free versions . Can anyone help . Was also thinking of adding some apps but get message to say "all apps updated" . Confused!!

If your iPad is not jailbroken, the ONLY way to add apps is through iTunes on your PC or through the App Store on your iPad.

Just use your iPad to go the app store and type Skype into the search engine on the app store. You'll see there is a Skye app there (although it appears under the iPhone apps, you'll see that it's iPad compatible too). Download that app and you're in business.
