Click on EDIT in top right, then hit the individual deletes.

This works for me:-
Press edit, you should get a red "no entry" sign next to the chat entry.
Press this red "no entry" sign - a red DELETE sign should appear.
Press the red DELETE sign and Hey Presto! Your chat has been deleted.
