Would anyone like to compete and see who can build the best city on SimCity DLX? Obviously there would not be any prizes but at least you will have bragging rights.

Well if anyone wants to compete, I will make some requirements. You must have a city with a population over 200,000, Your city must contain a minimum of 1 Hospital, 1 Fire Station, 1 Police Station, and 1 School. And for now that's pretty much it, yes you are allowed to use cheats, and whenever you think you have a good looking city just take a screen shot and post it on this thread. (you can only post 1 picture of your city, so make sure your city is perfect so you can have bragging rights!)

Just started playing this again on iPad, awesome game. Thanks for the tips. I have problems with parts of my city going to crap no matter what I do, it ends up a slum lol

Just make lots of rivers input the cheat code "I am weak" and you should be good, I am weak allows everything to be free and placing more water in the beginning will automatically raise your land value

Thanks I'll give that a go. I've been trying to play without cheats, it seems so much harder than it used to be when I was playing on PC...

So, used the helpful tips in the thread and built a city yesterday, spent several hours on it, just managed to get it out of the red with no loans after 24 years. Required two loans of 25k @ around 2 years and 5 years. Used the free item cheat, but was still a struggle to get the city to start making money instead of taking losses every year. Anyway, I present you Millionsville, with over 1.1 million residents. No trains, lots of bus stops and parks. The six screenies show the evolution of the city

Ok so this is my my city so far but I can't seem to move forward without causing mass chaos....why won't they build bigger and better houses and commercial and industry if they are in such high demand? And every now and then on zone will crash to rock bottom and build back up again...im getting tired lol iv nearly expanded to the full extent of my map and land value is high in commercial and residential anyway mass transport is perfect everything is grade A with no crime.... The only thing I'm low on is fire stations

4x4 zones: I am not sure anyone was aware but you can build 4x4 Industrial zones (Im not sure if it works for Residential or Commercial zones, I haven't tried it) Here's a pic of a building named "SimMars Site and Testing Facility"
