Hi. I am new to Apple and have an IPad 2. My screen has dimmed and locked up. How do I fix this?

Screen dimming and locking up

Switch the iPad off. Press and hold the Power and Home buttons at the same time until the white Apple logo appears - it takes a while, so have patience. The iPad will then reboot and all should be well.
