I guess so. I found it too much of a remake of Alien, admittedly with some amazing visual effects.

On the other hand, I just sat and watched the show you recommended. Wow. Now that was worth taking the time over.

Watched Prometheus at the weekend. Damn. That's two hours of my life I wasted and will never be able to get back. Very disappointing, in spite of the superb visual effects.

I felt the same way Kevin.......I didn't even know it was the prequel going in but it became obvious during the film. I agree the visual effects were stunning but it just didn't do it for me either. …:(.

Only good thing was watching it in Gold Class! ;)

I thought it was OK. But, yes, I though "huh, this looks and feels a lot like Alien" all the way through the show. At the end I had a "well, duh" reaction.

I did not know going in that it was a prequel. If I had I would have probably enjoyed it more, since it was answering a lot of questions about the Alien universe {and raised a lot more}. It would have also made the plot parallels more palatable, being almost inevitable coming from the same universe. As it was, I was more likely to think they were being copycats, but at least not cheep copycats.

Of course, if I'd known, I probably would not have watched it at all. The Aliens movies are pretty low on my radar for must-watch movies.

I enjoyed the 3rd viewing the most. :)

I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had known it was the prequel......I was thinking it was a rip off of Aliens too, made more sense to me once I realized.

I do love the Alien movies though....;)

I'm going to throw something out there again which isn't science fiction but right now on BBC there is a programme called Voyager: To The Final Frontier, which of course does have a link to both Star Trek and Carl Sagen, so pretty tenuous but for those of you with access to BBC iPlayer, fill yer boots!

Time to resurect this bad boy with some truly amazing news...

The Walt Disney Company announced that it has agreed to acquire the George Lucas-founded Lucasfilm firm for $4.05 billion (£2.5bn) in cash and stock.

Followed quickly by the announcement that Disney confirm that Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015.

Let the rumours and unabated-fanboi geekery continue! :D

Can't wait to see Harrison back as Han So-Old-O... ;)

Woohoo. Snow White and the 7 Jedis. At last. The classic we've been waiting for.

Wait a minute. Don't LucasFilm own Industrial Light and Magic? This could be a fearsome combination, especially with Pixar thrown into the mix.

If you've seen "looper" or you're familiar with the film's story, what did you think of the main characters' resolution of the time loop?

WARNING - ANY DISCUSSION BEYOND THIS POINT WILL CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

Sorry, haven't seen it yet. I'll probably have to wait for the DVD to come out. :(

If you enjoyed the "X-Files" series, I think you would enjoy Fringe. Four seasons are available
on iTunes. The 5th and final season episodes should be streaming on Fox.
