Safari 'back' button

Does anyone know how you can go to a previous page when on Safari without having to just go back one page at a time.

If you touch the Bookmarks icon on the menu bar you'll find there (it can take a while to locate depending on what state it was left in last time) the History 'trail', which lists the pages you have visited one-by-one over an extended period, listed day-by-day.

As I said, you may find, when you open the Bookmarks icon, that you're already in the History trail, other times you have to look for an entry that says 'History' and press that to reveal all the pages you've recently visited.
