removing files that don't show up inside imovie

i tried importing some video files into imovie but they aren't showing up. of course, apple won't let us access the files and itunes won't let me delete them (only copy them to my pc using file sharing).

any solutions? they are just there taking up space

i ended up just deleting and reinstalling. did the trick. why can't apple just let you access your files normally like most devices I own? damn iTunes.
