Hi & good day, padders,

Each time I open the Mail-app does not mean I need to bring in the latest emails, maybe I just want to read the current ones.

Is there a way to tell "Mail" on the iPad 2 to download those emails more rarely than every hour,

anyway I've checked "every hour / hourly" but as I wrote,
each & every time I open Mail the latest emails are downloaded,

which affects my bandwidth / costs.

Maybe "airplane" setting?!?

Outside my iPad, or was it inside?
Mail does automatically download the newest emails, when opening it. The only way around that is to turn off the 3G connection completely. So yes, Airplane mode will turn Wifi, Bluetooth and 3G, so Mail won't update emails when in that mode.
